01
What is lamination
The lamination process bonds two pieces of glass together using a plastic interlayer sheet giving a stronger structure that is harder to break The plastic sheet holds glass pieces together in case of breakage, reducing the risk of flying shards of glass or passenger ejection outside the vehicle in case of accident. Requires up to 10 minutes to penetrate the glazing, giving increased protection against theft, intrusion or carjacking.
02
Acts as noise filter
The plastic interlayer improves the acoustic performance of the window, decreasing cabin noise when in the highway traffic (vs. tempered glass): Lower traffic noise (vehicles passing each other) Lower road noise (transferred between road and tires via suspension) Lower wind noise.
03
Skin protection
Laminated glass totally blocks ultraviolet (UV) rays passing through the glass.
Health benefits (reduced sunburn and cancer risk).
