Factory tinted privacy glass
The dark tint is obtained by altering the chemical composition of the glass, giving lower light transmission
AGC has a full range of dark glass catalogue, including grey and green tints in a variety of privacy ranges and thicknesses
Light transmission can be selected according to the car line & application from 4.5% to 40% (ISO 9050), vs higher than 70% for classical vision glass.

Sustainability enabler
Darker glass prevents the sun's heat from entering the vehicle: it absorbs a significant part of the incoming sunrays spectrum, leading to lower temperatures inside the cabin. This means reduced need for air conditioning.
The environmental benefits are immediate: increased savings of fuel and CO2 for internal combustion engines (ICE) or range increase for electrical vehicles (EV)
Total Energy transmission can be limited up to 29 % - 45% (ISO 9050), depending on the glass tint & thickness, vs 59 – 70% for classical vision glass.
Dark glass absorbs part of incoming sunlight offering improved skin protection by decreasing the amount of ultraviolet (UV) rays transmitted inside the vehicle
UV transmission can be limited up to 0.2 % - 7% (ISO 9050), depending on the glass tint & thickness, vs 20 – 38% for classical vision glass.
