What is HeatControl Glass?

Invisible coating within the laminated glass ensures efficient defrosting and defogging.
The same coating improves thermal comfort inside the car in summer by reflecting invisible infrared solar rays.

Technical information

Heating performance

Invisible coating within the laminated glass ensures efficient defrosting and defogging.
Heating the glass from the inside ensures a fast result with low energy consumption. For example: deicing in less than 4 minutes at -6°C.
Targeted heating of the wiper area is possible, ensuring better safety through longer durability of wiper blades and improved wiping. Heating can be targeted on other parts of the windshield (sensors, cameras, and so on).

Power density

Suitable for any type of vehicle.
Heating power up to 1000 W/m2, optimized by AGC for windshield shape and size.
Works with standard automotive electrical systems (12-14-42-48V).

Thermal comfort

Anti-infrared: improves thermal comfort inside the vehicle in summer by reflecting invisible infrared solar rays. Depending on configuration and climatic conditions, up to 15°C reduction in the vehicle (depending on environment conditions).
Solar energy transmission is down to 30% (compared to 55% when using a standard tinted green glass).
Solar factor (TTS) down to 40% (compared to 65% when using a tinted green glass).

Environment

Enables fuel savings and decreases CO2 emissions by reducing air conditioning needs and shortening the time required to cool down the cabin.

Compatibility

Compatible with other technologies in the windshield (i.e. acoustic glazing, thin glazing, head-up display, antennas).
Special techniques such as zoned decoating can be used to ensure radio wave transparency.
