Technical information

01

Factory tinted privacy glass

AGC has a full range of dark glass products, including grey and green tints in a variety of privacy ranges and thicknesses.
Light transmission can be selected according to the car line & application from 4.5% to 40% (ISO 9050), vs. higher than 70% for classical vision glass.
02

Darker means safer

By reducing light transmission, dark glass offers visual protection from the outside environment.
One cannot see the people inside or personal belongings in the rear part of the cabin.
03

Sustainability enabler

Darker glass prevents the sun's heat from entering the vehicle. This means reduced need for air conditioning.
The environmental benefits are immediate: increased savings of fuel and CO2 for thermic engines or range increase for EVs.
Total energy transmission can be limited up to 29-45% (ISO 9050), depending on the glass tint and thickness, vs. 59–70% for classical vision glass.
04

Health care

Dark glass absorbs part of the incoming sunlight, offering improved skin protection by decreasing the amount of ultraviolet (UV) rays transmitted inside the vehicle.
UV transmission can be limited up to 0.2-7% (ISO 9050), depending on the glass tint and thickness, vs 20-38% for classical vision glass.
