What is Digital Curtain^™?

A thin laminated film of rod-like nano-scale particles suspended in a liquid layer is sandwiched between two glass sheets which are laminated together. When switched OFF, the glass is either dark (Wonderlite^®) or opaque (Wonderlite^® Dx). By applying a voltage, the suspended particles align in the same direction and the glass becomes transparent, letting light pass.

Control the amount of light entering inside the car through the glazing at the simple touch of a button. Depending on the solution, the amount of light transmitted can be tuned on a continuous way from dark to clear and vice versa.

Privacy on-YOUR-demand

Light transmission can typically vary from 35% down to <1% for Wonderlite^® glass.

Light transmission is typically varying for Wonderlite Dx^® glass as consequence of the curtain effect from 7% down to 1% in a roof application or from 20% down to 3% in a sidelite application.

Many other contrast values are possible to be customized as you wish, depending on the expected applications.

Plug & Play module

AGC can provide a fully integrated system for the Digital Curtain, including the Electronic Controller System and dedicated software design, considering the vehicle architecture.

Outstanding (Thermal) comfort

In summer, sun heat rejection helps keeping comfortable temperatures in the car.

In winter, thanks to the use of low-e coating, can avoid the cold wall effect.
